Christian Values

Christian Values

Our Christian Values are at the centre of everything we do here at St Edmund’s C of E Primary School. Each half term, we focus on a different Christian Value, explicitly through our collective worship time, but also through our curriculum. Children have regular opportunities to reflect on each value and to develop an understanding of the value in action.

Our Christian Values

Courageous Advocacy

At St Edmund’s CofE Primary and Nursery School we encourage and support our children to be "courageous advocates". This means they champion causes which are special and meaningful to them. These may be global issues or matters far more personal and closer to home.

We believe this develops resilience, teamwork, courage, independence and an understanding of the wider world and how they can help to make it a better place, this process helps enable our children to thrive and grow.

At St Edmund’s, we understand that life can be challenging at times and that all people, including friends, family and global citizens will face difficulties which they need help to persevere with in order to overcome them. We aim to inspire courageous advocacy and instil our Christian Values in the whole of our St Edmund’s community.

To ensure that we and our community give, inspire and flourish together, we are supportive of a range of charities in our local area, nationally and globally. Some of these include:

The Beacon Project – which provides support to the homeless, excluded and marginalized in Mansfield.

St. Edmund’s Church Food Bank – which provides emergency food and support to people locked in poverty.
