SIAMS Report 2022
St Edmund’s was last inspected under the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) framework on 11 July 2022. The school was judged Good overall, and the impact of collective worship was also judged Good.
The report recognised the importance of our Christian vision, “A journey to discover life in all its fullness” (John 10:10), in shaping school life. Inspectors highlighted the care shown to pupils and staff, the value of partnerships with other Church schools, and the role of collective worship in bringing our school community together.
The report also identified two areas for development: strengthening pupils’ knowledge of different world religions and their impact on society and culture, and giving pupils a greater role in planning, leading and evaluating collective worship. These findings continue to inform how we review our work as a Church school.
SIAMS Summary SEF
Our vision, “A journey to discover life in all its fullness” (John 10:10), is lived through our Sixcess Values and our commitment to helping every child feel known, valued and able to flourish.
Our September 2026 SIAMS self-evaluation describes how this vision shapes collective worship, religious education, pastoral care and opportunities for pupils to serve others. For example, pupil worship leaders have helped develop prayer gestures and a shorter school prayer. Pupils also put compassion into action through support for the local food bank and other charitable work.
We continue to develop pupils’ understanding of religions and worldviews and their role in shaping collective worship.
